Free, regular, inclusive cycling for university and college students in Bradford
It's been a great year for cycling on Wednesdays with stronger links with the Bike Hub and the Cycling Club. This will improve next year. So get fit in a fun way and come on down to the Students Union every Wednesday next semester at 1.15. All bikes are provided free off charge.
Ulott is underway with more sign ups each week. We now have two Ulott Ambassadors who you will see around campus. Stop and say hi. Money raised through ULott goes to Cycling 4 All so please sign up, you can do so here. Win thousands of pounds each week.
Our Tuesday lunch time bike rides are going well in spite of the weather. So in January, don't bother with a gym, get involved in this. This is great training if you are interested in taking part in the coast to coast this year.
Enhance your University experience as you get involved with Green Activities. These range from cycling to beekeeping. Help with Green Thursdays and be a Sustainability Engagement Assistance. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
On one Thursday each month next year, Cycling 4 All will hold a Wacky bike roadshow. Come and try a crazy bike, learn how to ride a tandem and race your friends on the bike powered scalelextric.
But we did win the Social Inclusion Award at the Bradford Bulls Foundation, Making a difference in Bradford 2015 Awards. Thanks for the nomination and all who have been involved with the project for making this happen.
Cycling 4 All has been given £25,000 funding from the Peter Harrison Fund for 10 racing G2 wheelchairs which will enable Cycling 4 All to start up a number of different sports activities for all its students at the University regardless of their disability. Wheelchair basketball here we come.
Disabled students from the university are set for epic charity ride after hitting target. We have raised £2,500 to fund a 'dream' coast to coast ride for five of its members. The coast to coast ride will consist of a ride from Morecombe to Flam borough Head travelling 182 miles in total. This will be taking place on June 3rd through to the 7th June this year.
Cycling4All hold regular cycling sessions every week for students across the Bradford area. Sessions are run from 1:30pm – 4:00pm in Lister Park, Bradford every Wednesday during the academic year. Any abilities are welcomed and bikes are provided free of charge.
Cycling 4 All will be taking their bikes to the Spen Valley Greenway later next month for some cycling in the countryside. The Greenway is an off road paved disused train track that is now a cycle path. It is about 14 miles long and gradually downhill so it will be suitable for hand bikes, trikes and beginners. We will be dropped off at the top and picked up at the bottom. It's FREE, don't forget. Bikes and transport will be provided free of charge. Get in touch if you want to come and join in as places are limited. Volunteers are also welcome.
Cycling 4 All have finally launched their first gardening site here on the university campus. It's located near to the Phoenix building behind in the carpark. Anyone interested in having a free allotment please do get in touch and get the plants in for next year's harvest.
